Labor Market Identification Analysis

The area of operation of Labor Market Identification Analysis (LMIA) includes trainings that are being offered by Director General for Skills development (DG-SD) of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA).

The objectives of LMIA is to create a unique method for assessment of needs of labor market based on occupational titles and their numbers in government’s development programs, existing and needed occupations in private sector and new occupations that will be created due to emergence of new technologies and integration between occupations resulting from cycle changes of technology in the future. This function will help achieving maximum targets with minimal expenses in the quickest possible opportunity.

The Labor Market function in Temporary TVET Commission will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Review and strengthen the existing labor market information mechanism within MoLSA.
  • Ensure relevance the NOSS, curriculum with industry needs and seeks industry feedback for improvement and relevancy.
  • Regular evaluate feedback from master trainers, trainees, assessors and verifiers to inform the decision maker’s progress, key issues, recommendations and outcomes of the on-going efforts. 
  • Maintain resource center including i) e-library accessible to all users ii) TVET related materials in English, Dari and Pashto and iii) Information in respective rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of the country.
